The pressure scanners are the most important component
of a pressure scanning system. Each pressure scanner
combines one silicon pressure sensor per measurement
port with multiplexers a common amplifier and a
bi-stable calibration valve to achieve high accuracy
measurements for high numbers of channels within a
compact package. Recent advancements include DTC –
Digital Temperature Compensation which combines a
temperature sensor per port with on-board EEPROM memory
for extensive factory calibration. The factory
calibration is used by the system microprocessors to
achieve unmatched pressure measurement accuracy in a
thermally unstable test environment. Pressure scanners
are available in miniature size with 16, 32 or 64
measurement channels per scanner, or in ruggedized 16
channel instruments with direct digital output capable
of withstanding 30g shock, 160 dB noise with IP66
						environmental rating.
